What's On at St. Barts

There's always something going on at St. Barts. See below for current events, or on our Services and Special Services pages for service times. Prayer Forum

Our next Prayer Forum meetings will take place at 8pm on Tuesday 6 June in the church. All are warmly welcome.

The next breakfasts, between the 8am and 10am service, will be on 7 May (in aid of Christian Aid), 11 June and 9 July.

Beating the Bounds

Sunday 7 May. Last year we revived the ancient custom of "Beating the Bounds" - walking around the parish boundary, with some stops for prayer. Thus traditionally takes place around Rogationtide (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Ascension Day, observed by Christians as days of solemn supplication for the harvest and marked by processions, special prayers, and blessing of the crops). We shall be doing it this year after Church on Sunday 7 May. Do joint us for all or part of the journey (3-4 miles).

Mother's Union

The next branch meeting is in Holy Trinity Church at 2pm, on  12 May. Father Michael will give a talk about his Sabbatical.

St. Christopher's Hospice 50th Anniversary Service at Southwark Cathedral

20 July at 7pm. St. Christopher's Hospice celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and part of that celebration is a service at Southwark Cathedral. We would really like people in our local community to be part of the congregation for this service, especially as many of them will have had the need to use St. Christopher's expertise at some stage in their lives for a family member of a friend. If you would like to be part of the congregation at the Service, please apply for tickets. There is no charge, and either one or two tickets can be issued to each applicant. Simply send a SAE, together with a note of whether you would like one or two tickets to: Southwark 50 Service, St. Christopher's Hospice, 51-59 Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham SE26 6DZ. Or email: southwark@stchristophers.org.uk. Dr. Andrew Goodhead, Spiritual Care Lead.

And look out for . . .

Bring and share lunches at other times of the year, such as Lent and Harvest Festival, Jumble Sales, Concerts, Plant Sales and lots more . . .
